Im fairly new to sleds, but I have an '07 Apex mountain. It sure would be cool to ride with a seasoned Apex owner to learn the does and don'ts of the sled!
Anyone?

As in don't get it stuck???!!!! Lol!!!!
I had one for a season -- and it was heavily modified, and it was a real handful for me.
I think the key is gradual turns boon docking in open areas, don't try to get into technical areas with the sled.
And obviously keep on the gas at all times and try to let the sled do the work. And if you do get stuck, bribe your buddies with lots of beer.

Haha, thanks.
I guess more so, sled set up, cold starting, getting it hot, how far CAN it roll on its side safely, feathering the throttle on big climbs like a two stroke. Just stuff you seasoned guess just naturally know.
Ive been on dirt bikes for over 30 years, I know all the tricks to bikes, and I always forget to teach the simple things to newbies. Proper bike set up is first, before I teach em techniques.
It sure would be nice to ride once with an old school Apex rider.

Sled set up is somewhat specific to each particular rider/conditions. My wife's apex is set up way different than mine. I don't mind jumping on hers, she can't stand mine (says it's too violent and the turbo scares her in the trees). As for rolling them over, I've had them both all the way over. They don't like to run upside down though due to not oiling the crank bearings. Only issue is if you put them upside down they need to rest rubber side down for a few minutes so that everything runs back where its supposed to be. Cold start - just turn the key. If it's really cold I will cycle the key to turn on the pump, then start it like normal. Warm up - once the red light is off it's usually good to go. As for riding tips, momentum and smooth are the keys.

Got everything all set and ready to go!
No Washington Guys???
Im going up to Harts Pass next weekend. Snow in the forecast for that elevation, and snotel says there is already some to start with. Going to launch from roughly 7000ft. Road ride only obviously.
