Too much fresh powder to pass up so friday afternoon I was making the 750 mile drive west for one last ride. Saturday was the best snow condtions I have ever been in. 6-9 feet of base with 30-48" of fresh powder on top of that. Once I seen the High Alt Yamaha trailers in the parking lot I knew the 06's where up there! 3-4 hours later I found them and got to do some demo riding. Got on the Vector mt SE first and right away was not impressed with the power. The sled had good floation, and worked well but just didnt have the responce. Then I got on the bad boy. I think I'm still smiling. The sled was so comfortable and felt so nimble when carving in powder. I did get to do some climbing with it and was very happy. Its going to be a very, very fun season next year. ===SRXSRULE===

How many miles does Cody have on that sled now?

Great pics - I wish we would have went up there.

Oh I got some sweet pics, these are just the ones of me on the Apex. It has 1800 miles on it now. We rode for 12 hours on saturday, put on 100 miles of all over the hood powder!!! Had the same thing planed for sunday but then I smacked a tree 11 miles into it! DAMN IT!!! Cant wait for next year. ===SRXSRULE===

Awesome! Thats what I like to hear! ;)!

I hope the tree didn't cause too much damage.....$$

Thanks for sharing!

Eric,
How does the 06 turn with the 162 on it? Friend out west thinks they will be difficult to turn.
What did you hit the tree with? Much damage?

It turns great. In fact, it will cut so quick in powder that I was caught off gaurd right off the bat on the Vector SE (still a 162") and I flew right over the bars carving it in the powder. I was riding a stock 02 summit with a 144 and the Apex could cut a turn just as tight. I wish I could have rode that sled all day. Both my buddies with me (life long poo guys) only had good things to say about it. ===SRXSRULE===

Lucky you!

Now because of you, my summer will be twice as long... ;)!

Any more pics ?

How well is the integrated air box design holding up to snow covering the hood? I haven’t seen this question asked yet and was wondering if water in the air box or suffocating was going to be an issue with my Apex GT. Thanks for the info and :rocks:

By the way this is my 1st post

If you look at some of the pics, you will notice the sled has so much snow on it you cant even tell what it is. There was no problems with snow getting it....I Cant say the same for the summit I was riding. I had to stop about 20 times to clean out the intake! ===SRXSRULE===
