i have an 06 apex gt and i just came back for a few days in northern ontario. the conditions were very hard pack snow, with a little lube. at the end of 700km i ripped off 1 fix low snow front wheel(2000km), 1 fix mid wheel(4000km+) (opposite of the front), the 2 inside rear wheels disinigrated(4000km +milage). personally i think the 2 inside rears broke apart because the fix wheels banged around inside the track at high speed. whenever we stopped the suspension was dry and warm. my question is if i put a skidoo or aftermarket suspension in won't i have the same heat and dryness problems causing wheels to disinagrate. i have no problems with slides, outside fronts, and the rears. and after a revalve and 6.5 spring the rear is almost as good as my polaris edge.

changing skids wont change poor snow or driving conditions. install tunnel mount scratchers and use them when needed. all skids melt sliders and delaminate tracks running high speeds in poor conditions, some faster than others.

i agree. also that fix stuff is crap, i blew both sets off (fix) last year in cochrane in good snow conditions. i used the yamaha low snow kit front & mid this year & it worked great !

I used the yamaha front and mid wheel kits all season with no issues what so ever. Then, I went on trip from Kirkland Lake, Cochrane, Timmins , New Liskeard and lost one mid wheel assembly. Hard pack trails and as eveyone knows who travels up to that area, pretty much WOT for miles and miles.

One of the small mounting screws broke off which caused the block assemby to spin and eventually fall off. I think I will replace it with the same as it is a good kit. Those poor little wheels are spinning really fast and I don't think any of them will survive low snow and 90+mphs.

Do yourself a favor and get the polaris blocks that mount outside rails, and use either a yammi wheel or larger poo wheel and the little wheels are good for ice racing, but not durable enough under hard trail conditions,i have lost and tore up more than one of the little wheels, but once the change is made to 5.2-5.35 wheel, they last.

mnmsnowbeast - thanks for the advise...are the polaris blocks off of the edge suspension or newer IQ or Dragon? They mount OK on an ATTAK in the mid postion???

I am not sure about the newer iq but the older maybe edge set up or even older extra 10 skid had them, and i think you can go right to any polaris shop and buy the complete kit,i can look at my wifes 06 edge classic 600 and see if hers has the same set up,but with the m-10 it may not,but i can find out for ya if you are still interested.

I used the Doo wheels and 2 hole mounting blocks. I did a lot of shoulder riding this year and after 1500 miles the slides and wheels look like new.
