So I'm almost finished putting the Apex seat on my 03 RX-1 and everything went well except for a big 3/4" gap at the back between the rear sides of the seat and the exhaust covers. I found a picture of mbarclays sled that has the same mod (see below) and he had the gap too but I've talked to others that don't. The seat height is not adjustable as it sits on rubber pads that contact the exhaust heat shield so is there a difference between the Apex and RX-1 in that area? Did they change something to fit the storage compartment in the seat? The rest of the trim mates up perfectly around the exhaust pipes and the seat looks good at the front of the exhaust cover but the gap gets wider as you go back to the rear.

looks like you'll have to modify the rods(hook bolts) that hold the back of the seat down it needs to put down more but they have a stopper built on them,so you might need to grind that of them so it will pull down more

It's already resting on the rubber pads and they won't compress that much by tightening the hooks. I'm going to try the old seat and see if I can figure out where the differences are but it's weird how some people have this issue and others don't.

I don't have the gaps on my sled and mine is also an 03. What if you cut down the rubber pads a bit in the back.
