I know this has been addressed on this site before, but I can't find it. The paint is coming off of my floor boards on my already great 2007 Attack and I was wondering what everyone was doing to make them look new again. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

My son installed the same rubber material (black sled) they use on stand up jet skis. Took a while to cut and fit but it turned out great. Sorry, that's the best picture I have.

Ha, the guy in the photo looks like he's taking a piss!

I'm not sure if they offer it anymore, buy Yamaha offered a pre-cut custom rubberized matt that you stuck to the floorboards. I used them on one of my sleds and then every other sled I used some stuff I bought at a hardware store. It's black and has a gritty surface with 3m adhesive and can be cut to fit. It comes in a roll in different widths. Way cheaper than the matts from Yamaha too.

get some steel cut out waterjetted

I solved the problem by getting a local place to water jet me out a piece of metal to put over the floorboards. cost me 30 bucks, get them powdercoated and problem solved, dont try to paint the floorboards, the paint will never stick like the factory and it will just wear again. its only the first foot or so that wears anyway. powdercoating holds up way better than paint, bought a do it yourself powdercoating system and did it myself.

An Automotive body shop could do it. Yamaha probably uses a 2 part paint like Awlgrip used on sailboats, etc. I've used it on Aluminum Scuba tanks. Expensive but it will hold up. It's the paint Aircraft use to paint. The Automotive version used to be called Imaron?? Basically a 2 part Liner Polyurethane.
If you want a cheap job use Rustoleum oil based spray as it's a tuff paint for sure and is flexible.

I have cut a template of paper until fit then the non skid 3M adhesive backed black material - worked great, has been in place for years, thousands of miles with no issues.

I will do it again if I get another painted tunnel sled. Tried simple paints -wore through like the original.

in my opinion, I would leave it alone. It's still gotta look better than an equal yeared cat or poo.

Adding any paint to it will simply not stick, and possibly speed up the wear of the original paint.
