2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
I want to get into a XTX and don't know wether to buy a 2011 left over or get into a newer one due to improvements, etc. What are the big differences between these years?
I see there are lot's of 2011's for around 11k

Only change from a 2011-2012 was an extra 1' of seat foam added. Not sure from 2012-2013 I don't think anything. I just picked up a new 11 XTX. Pretty incredible deals on them right now if you can find one.

From 11-12 some wheels in the front of the skid we relocated to help with slide wear and the mounting position of the skis also changed. Same skis on the 12 but they are mounted slightly rearward from the 11 (maybe 3/4"?).

Nothing major enough to stop you from taking a good deal on an 11 if you find one.

Let's not forget on the '13, the little plastic clip that keeps the torsion spring in place over the slide rail is replaced with a metal one that is held in place w/ two 8mm bolts. I had a '12 that after my first 150 mile ride, that plastic one was snapped, so on the 13's they have been "updated" with a metal one. No issues I'm sure to warrant telling anyone else about it!!

Thanks guys..It seems there isn't alot of difference.
I wonder if I could move the wheels up on the 2011 my self like on the 2012.

I have an 11 XTX I just bought. I picked up the new Dupont sliders and I think I'm going to buy a set of Polaris wheels to replace the stockers. The Polaris wheels are 5mm larger and have replacable bearings. To me it looks like Yami is still putting the crap non replacable bearing idlers on their sleds.

On the 2012 they moved the wheels a bit but also lowered them I believe from what I have read on there.

get them to throw in the dupont sliders

just a suggestion, I have a 2012 apex xtx, after 500 kms the sliders were worn out in good riding conditions, get them to throw in the new dupont sliders as part of the deal. should come with the sled in my opinion. lots of new 2011s and 2012s for sale up here in ontario, went to the dealer in arnprior on saturday and the had three 2012 xtxs in stock, many dealers are blowing them out at cost. demand for sleds seems to be down in this area, too many bad winters. many people are getting atvs instead. Many people are keeping their older sleds or getting out of the sport altogether. kinda sad really, not sure how long the trail system will survive without volunteers and people buying trail passes. . not sure what the situtation is south of the border, are you guys seeing the same thing? I am sure the state of the economy or both sides of the border does not help either.

Sasquatch your XTX should have the newer Yamaha wheels with replacable bearings and with the Dupont slides I really don't think you'll need a larger wheel if you do look at the Excel wheels not sure of the price difference but those wheels helped alot with my older Apexes and just put them on my new Apex SE. Just a thought

X2, these newer wheels with replacable bearings came out in 2010.

Also, where did you get the newe dupont sliders Sasquatch, in Canada or the U.S?

My dealer is back ordered 22prs with no definite answer as to when they will be in?

Yep, noticing the same thing around here and from I am hearing, most clubs permit sales are way down compared to 2010 levels.

I have also noticed what seem to me, is a greater than usual amount of sleds for sale on Kijiji.
Bottom line is we need snow and we need it fast.

Thanks guys I checked the wheels do have replacable bearings so I think that I'm going to run them with the duponts. I have one pair of polaris wheels here that I may install on the front most axle judgeing by my stock sliders, looks like the dupont slider does not carry the hard stuff all the way to the front. Time will tell only 190 miles on the Apex.

Irv I got the duponts from a close by dealer that had them in stock from last year. Bought them when I found out he had a pair quite some time back for the reason you name. Last year guys where having a hard time getting them.

I put excells on my 2011 xtx with standard slides 1200 miles on look really good yet plan on running all season.

Really, I thought the 2" seat foam increase was for 2011/12 from 2010. They added another 1" in the 2012 model?
