I've owned all three now, 121,128 and current is a 144 and put thousands of miles on all 3. The XTX is flat out better in all conditions. I ride with guys with 121's and 136's and they all complain when the trail are anything other than smooth. The mono bottoms way to easy, and when you re-valve, it goes harsh. I take the lead for a reason now, the old girls cannot keep up with the new and I hate running that slow....

I think that's why most riders 200 lbs and over put on the Big Boy spring and leave the valving alone. I think there are at least 3 spring rates available.

Yes,lots of rates available. We put the stiffest one in my buds 08 LTX GT and yes it's better but still does the spine crusher on the big hits. So he got it re-valved and now it's a tooth rattler.... My XTX on the same hits does bottom but way less impact to the back. Like I said, I have had both suspensions, I will never go back to the mono. I have the Star kit on my XTX and never really got to test my XTX rear in stock form so I can't really comment on a factory XTX rear.

I agree the mono would ring my spine I think it is something in the way it hits when it botoms out never has the xtx done this to me and i do find the botom of the rear skid often enough almost every time i ride mainly because of a trail condition near my house that is too fun not to hit hard :jump: :sled1: you can do what ever you want to the mono but every skid will bottom out with the right situation and the way the mono hits just kills me i will not be going back to a mono again if i can help it.

I am glad to read this because I was reading some complaining about the XTX and it just did not add up. I have never ridden any sled that can do what my XTX can do.it is the greatest trail runner I have ever been on but I discovered it is a beast in the deep powder also. On 2 separate trips to Maine ( Jackman and Madawaska ) we were hit by 2 big storms and we got out in some of the powder and the XTX just pulls through the deep powder like a frieght train.i tried to get stuck on purpose and I never did. My sled is a 2014 XTX
