Approach to problem solving-popping and missing off idle-lurchy clutch engagement

My sled and my brothers sled do it pretty bad. But Has anyone had their sled stall? Mine probably stalled five times on my last trip and my brothers stalled around ten times. It stalls at idle and you can start it right back up but one time it stalled just as my brother came to a stop at a road crossing. I have talked to my dealer and he said as far as he knows it's never happened to any other sled.

Mine stalled before the code. Last year. Then threw a code. Never a issue since reflash but yes my idle and off idle is a bit rougher than before. My guess is this is IACV related. There is a map that controls this. They also use it to control engine braking. Has got to be a very complicated map and code. All I can offer is make sure your belt deflection is not too tight. That will cause these same issues.

Cannon, my belt selection is around a sixteenth of an inch above secondary. I don't think that is it because it only does it once in a while and it does it sometimes after starting it first thing in the morning and sometimes two hours into the day. I checked the tors and that seemed to be ok also.

Hoping it was simple Weasel. Have you asked any of your buddies about swapping ECU just to compare? Maybe kill two birds with one stone. Top End and this!

if you are still having stalling problem, mine was fixed. I posted below in a couple other posts on stalling but wanted to make sure everyone saw it.

my 2014 ltx had the hard starting last year but was reflashed about 6 weeks ago and was stalling since which was a bummer. Every time I slowed down I had to keep throttle up close to engagement which was huge pain in the #*$&@ in a 740 mile 3 day ride in quebec. it would have stalled every time I brought it down to idle (i.e. road crossings, in town, down steep hills, when I locked brakes....) hazardous to say the least. I brought it back and they just fixed it cause went out yesterday and didn't stall at all wooohoooo !! The issue with mine was simply adjusting the throttle cable. I didn't see any codes but they said it had stored it was throwing a P0000 i believe which they didn't know what it was cause yamaha doesnt recognize that one but the yami rep was there and said he saw that in the same cat sleds and it was the throttle cutting out. my dealer had not seen it in the yamahas yet. I see other posts on stall so I am gonna copy/paste this to those so hope people don't mind !

Awesome! Nice job. This type of info is what this site is about. Thank you.

I picked up a Power Commander Fuel Controller to help with the off idle throttle deal. I haven't had much time to mess with it, but a after simple throttle calibration it seems like it is going to work well for me.

Yes PowerCommander will clean that up for sure. Since I disconnected mine yesterday the rough idle is back. Looks like Yamaha should do another flash. But really even with rough idle I still had no issues loading and unloading slowly into trailer. Just doesnt sound right is all.
