Does anyone know if I can put a cat kid in my nytro? It is a 153 cat skid and I would like to keep my track length at 153.
Any input would be appreciated.

I'm running 156 and a Timbersled skid in mine but it is using Cat rails. You should be able to get the 153 Cat skid in the Nytro but you may need to make new inner plates in the tunnel where they meet the bulkhead as the stockers have a bump in them probably where you will need to mount the Cat front arm. For sure the cat arm will need to go up and forward compared to the stock Nytro arm as the Cat front arm is a couple of inches longer. There is also quite a difference in the rail tip curve between the two skids. Becaus the Cat skid has less curve you mount it higher in the tunnel to have the rail tips not rubbing on the track clips. On the other side of the track (top) you need the Cat arm in the perfect place in order to not have the track clipping the top of the front shock. So in summary yes it can be done, but if you don't already have the skid I might look at a different option. I can probably get you a measurement of where to mount the front arm if you go the Cat route but you won't have a lot of options as far as adjusting your limiter straps goes. The pretyy well can only be set up fully sucked up.

I saw a new complete 09 skid for 900 bucks. I thought this would be a more economical way to go but if the limiter strap would have to be all the way up I think that would create too much ski pressure.
Hartman and fabcraft has a complete skid and a kit to get the track approach angle to 17 degrees.
Did the timbersled change the angle??

It did dramatically largely due to the Cat rails. I rode the sled this week setup with the limiter sucked up and I was worried about too much ski pressure but it was all good. The sled is soooo much better than before I can't hardly believe its the same machine. It climbs up on top out of 2 feet of snow and it rides fine on the trail, which is good because there isn't much adjustment to be had without wearing the rail tips.
The 09 skid you found does it have the floats? I've not tried one in anything but an M1000 which I rode this week (POS sled IMO, I couldn't get off of it fast enough) but in the cat it seemd to be a pretty decent skid.
