They are great in the ruff stuff but quite possibly the worst sled u can ride in real deep powder in stock form. The front end stays up but the rear end trenches right down to the bottom with absolutely zero flotation.

would a 1.5" track help the back end out if not what does it take? All I do is grab a fist full of throttle and it seems to do alright..just dont stop when ya know its deep...

yup they are terrible with the deep powder the front is too heavy and nose dives and plows all the snow with stock skis , just put on mountains skis this year and they help alot with floatation, i've been in 3 feet of powder last year at the cottage near north bay and let me tell ya you get plastered with snow rolling over the windy. actually quite fun doin wheelies in the deep stuff. and in the rough stuff there great, no problems on the washboard trails, the long track makes the bumps small and seems to ride them out better. anyways you wont have to rebuild these sleds every few years. go blue and you wont be disapointed !!!

660 lbs. wet, sinks like a tank in deep snow, you can get thru 2ft. no problem after that, i wouldn't chance it, awesome in the rough trails

I've owned both Rengade an two Attaks. Gade better off trail but Attak way better at everthing esle.

I put the Apex Mountain Skis on my 06 Attak and switched out the Ripsaw for a Predator 9819. Huge improvement in powder. The rear doesn't trench and the flotation up front is great.

I own an Attak. And I'm seriously considering buying a Renegade (but having a really hard time choking down the idea of going back to a 2 stroke). That has to tell you something...
My Attak is absolutely a great sled on trail, but average (at best) sled off trail. But I won't call it miserable. Then again I have Powderhound skis and a 1.5 inch paddle track, which probably make it a bit better than most other stockers.
The paddles of the 1.5 inch track definitely help keep it moving and allow some minimal climbing abilities, but it still trenches. And the nose heaviness is a rather notable issue especially when side-hilling (as was discussed extensively in another recent thread). And then there's the whole digging it out problem....how many GOOD friends ya got?!
Not too many have addressed your question on the "rough stuff." Frankly I think it's very good in the rough, but it does tend to bottom a bit more than I'd like in stock form. A simple shock revalve should cure that problem however, depending on your weight. I wouldn't fear it in the rough at all...rides very nice and well controlled at very high speeds in the moguls IF you carefully set it up right.

I have an RTX that i extended to a 136 1.5" Ripsaw. I still have the stock skis but am possibly looking to upgrade or even switch to the Nytro MTX.
Anyways same as most have said. If you keep it moving then you will be fine. I noticed a huge difference in mine as i added more track surface but I went on a good trip with a friend of mine and he owns an attack. He got stuck a number of times and I only was stuck once because i stopped to get out of the way of a groomer. I was able to get the sled out eventually on its own power. Him getting stuck may have something to do with learning experience in powder also.
In rough its great after you re valve the shock. In stock form it bottomed quite a bit on big moguls and even small once once in a while. After i Re valved it was like night and day in rough conditions. If you spend alot of time off trail look into a lighter sled. Its a lot of work but you can ride it in powder.

I can't compair to a doo as I have never owned one. I am a proud owner of a 2007 Aattak gt and I love it. It is a great trail sled. As far as off trail, it was fine. I was running some powerlines last weekend in what had to be atleast 4ft deep of snow going up and down hill and winding. I did get my sled stuck, but that was do to my own errors. I am going to stretch my attak out to a 144" skid with a 1.5 track and get differant skis. Then we shall see how she does.
I did stop while in the deep snow and the sled got back up fine. The key is to just feather the gas, not to open it up.

Note: the comments made of getting it unstuck are very true. The sled feels light while you are riding it, but lifting the rear end up and over to get it on a new snow to get going sure is heavy.

I have wieghed the renegade full of all fluids and the attack gt full of fluids on my longacre digital scales and the Attack was 647lbs and the gade was 610lbs. The gade did not hav electric start. My attack is great in the rough but not so good in the deep in stock form, probably gonna get powder pros and a predator track. Do a search for more info. after riding mine the friend with the gade did buy and apex mountain and loves it so far.

You tell 'em 1crazysledder........we know what makes these sleds turn into powder machines!! You saw it running on the power line.
Got those changes made yet? Saturday you were threatening to have it completed by this weekend. (might have been the influence of the Jack though
