Apreciate everyone's help with the question raised concerning the Vector vs. Apex, and I'm leaning towards the Vector LTX. However, the next question I have is -
Other than the power steering is there anything else that is signifiantly better on the Vector LTX in comparison to the 2006 Attak? Wondering if I trade now or wait for some of the new features on the Apex to be added to the Vector.

Yamaha has improved the shock valving and spring combination in the Mono every it has been in production. G.B.
Hand warmers have improved since 06. The motor package will be lighter ofcoarse. Skis and power steering will make it totally different. Did the 2012 Vec get the taller seat as well?

Handling.
Lower Center of Gravity. Less tippy and less ski lift.
Fuel mileage about 40% better.
136 " track great on Vector. Not available on the Apex.
Most all the upgrades to the Apex are now on the 2012 Vector.
Get the 2012 Vector. Better sled for the normal trail rider, less money. No Brainer IMHO

My Apex LTX GT 2010 has much improved ride and handleing over the attaks. The adjust on fly mono 136" rear suspension really works well. So my point is the 2012 vector LTX should be close plus the added power steering will be just flat out awsome! I called my dealer and was considering the same machine but I would need about 3000 for the vector and 4,000 for the Apex to trade. I am going to ride to 10 for atleast 1 more year.

VECTOR LTX is a sweet ride!!!!!! It will take an apex at the hit of the "GO BUTTON"

My 2 cents: The Attak is significantly faster. I've ridden a 2010 Vector and my 2006 Attak and they are both great sleds...but I could totally tell the difference between motors. Do you need a 150 horse motor? Do a lot of lake riding? I've also owned a 2006 Vector and had no trouble keeping up to the higher horsepower sleds. And the 2010 motor is MUCH better.

I'm leaning toward the 2012 Vector LTX as well. I rode it in Munising this last March and it really made a great impression. I would have to say its probably the best riding snowmobile I've ever rode at a Demo event. Here's what I liked about it.
It tracked straight and true with virtually no darting.
It took corners with confidence and I experienced no inside ski lift. (All EPS sleds IMO are just silky smooth thru the corners with no harsh feedback thru the handlebars)
Its quieter than the Apex. Alot quieter!
shock valving and overall ride quality was perfect.
To sum it up, it was a sweet & comfortable ride. I'm pretty certain I'm in the market to get my wife a new ride, and I'm 99% certain she'll appreciate the Vector motor and how much quieter it is than the Apex. Yes the Apex is a Faster machine but honestly its alot closer in the seat of the pants than you might think...... Has anyone heard what kind of fuel milage they get out of the Fuel Injected Vector?

About 40% better than the Apex.
16 to 20 miles to a Yankee Gallon from what I have seen.
