Backcountry track owners

Please note that the Back Country tracks have got new part numbers for this season (Camoplast part number 9140C-9143C, depending on length). The new part numbers are supposed to be based on the single ply technology and the old part numbers are discontinued and no longer available from Camoplast.
I received my 9142C (15"x136") couple of weeks ago. Compared to the old part numbers, I can not say that I noticed about any difference in thickness. Maybe the old part numbers were also single ply constructions...? Or, maybe the single ply construction is no different thickness...?
Furthermore - compared to the old part numbers - the base of the lugs and the "lug stiffeners" looks thicker, the outer lugs are chamfered (see picture) and all of the clips are the non-holed model.

See mine has the 9074 number, the lugs have stiffeners on both sides......not sure if they are chamfered on the outers,I'd have to check and I have the clips with the holes. Mine is a yamaha accessory track so I'm wondering if maybe some change in the lug was made for yamaha and then camoplast used this design with new numbers???

The discontinued part numbers from last year were 9071-9074, depending on length. You would assume that there is no design change without a part number change, but with Camoplast you kind of never know. For instance, the Intense 15"x136" used to be every third closed and then fully clipped on the same part number...

I know there is also some confusion between last years "standard" Back Country 9071 (15"x121") and the snocross track called 9067R (15"x121"). Some people talk about them like they were the same track, but they are for sure not the same track. Even though the lug pattern is very similar, the snocross track has got much stiffer lugs. I guess this is where part of the confusion comes from.

Not to argue with anybody here, but I think that the lugs on this track would sooner break off at the base rather than fold over for most people.

I too am looking forward to getting some miles on this track, looks to be a great all around track.
Yes I had this track on my 06 rev 800. After 2 seasons had 4 lugs rip cleanly off at the base. Probable cause was me riding too hard in minimal snow conditions at the end of the season. Overall, nice track I could run with summits offtrail. 136x15x1.75" Considering getting the 144 for my new xtx since i ride 80% off - 20% on trail. Just hard to keep spending money on an already expensive sled. Waiting on a test ride before I change things around.

I am getting my backcountry installed this very moment cant wait to test it out do alot of boon docking in the deepest snow i can find also changed top gear from 21 to 20 i feel it will be easier on the belt... Also installing stiffer torsion springs

you could just save us all from all of this arguing and put a challenger on instead..

has anyone used the back country with a boosted sled?!?!?
i have one here that i want to put on my 121 but i am worried even with the avid drivers that it will blow apart

OK - I've had enough of the ripsaw on my XTX. I'm getting walked on by 121"ers in the powder.

I'm on my third season with my XTX. First year I was in Ontario for most of it on vacation, last year in Yellowknife we didn't get real deep snow. This year we have a lot, and I'm getting stuck with a front end that's sinking and plowing.

I want this track. Anyone know any deals besides full price through Yamaha?

I bought mine from Port Yamaha. They had the track on sale when I bought. Huge huge savings. Not sure if its still that cheap.

I bought mine from Tracks USA. No one in Canada could come close to their price.

Do it, the sooner the better. You won't believe the difference. Like you, I waited until I was in my third year with the sled, one year in Ont, one year in Nfld without much snow, and last year we had tons of it, and I got sick of getting stuck, so I pulled the trigger and didn't regret it at all.

Yellowknife, give tracks Canada a call. Whenever I have got a quote from him he matches or comes damn close to tracks USA prices. ....and I believe he is in Edmonton which is a lot closer to you. ;)!

I have a backcountry on my boosted xtx have about4 or 5 lugs torn off at the base of the track on the outsides, always ride in good snow, have same track on my 144 attack and track looks brand new.

Backcountry track

I just got a quote from tracks Canada. Here is the price, Camoplast Backcountry 144x15x1.75 in 2.52 pitch sells for $699.99 + $35.00 gst = $734.99 plus Canada post shipping to Ontario would be $52.50. Best price i found in Canada so far.
