Since this section would have more experience then the regular Nytro section I thought I would put this here. I have a 136" Nytro which I want to put the new 42" wide Barbuster timbersled front end on. I am waiting to see if Ulmer makes bushings for it first. My question is how durable do you think the kits are for aggressive riding? I like the idea of chrome moly, and the slightly wider kit. That plus the new geometry should help with the cornering, and higher speeds. Just see posts on sites like Snowest with the spindles getting racked by the mountain guys, and that makes me concerned. The spindles don't look as beefy as Zbroz, or Westcoast, but Zbroz is having issues with mounts from what I hear, and West coast doesn't make a wide kit. So what do you think?? Looking to lighten, and widen the front end?

I know this helps to :exc: , but could use opinions on durability, Thanks Guys

Allen has a bushing kit for it already. I have used in for 2 seasons on my MTX and like it. Can't comment on use for a trail sled. Apples to oranges comparison.

i like the bbuster kit.

one tip, don't try to straighten/pull your tweaked subframe w/ the bbuster arms on it...i think the stockers are a lil more stout for this sorta thing. :P

also, make sure you keep your ski tips UP, if a tip dives and catches in the snow, and twists around ... it WILL snap the upper ball joint.
which, really, is a good/cheap weak spot IMO.

it took me a few ball joints to figure out what was causing this... just make sure you keep the rubbers under the spindle. ;)

I still think the kits a good choice for wt loss and the added turning radius is handy at times too.

What happened when you tried to straighten your subframe? Mine is tweaked and I want to pull it straight. What should I do instead? Love to hear your advice. Sorry didn't mean to steal your thread.

got it on mine...happy to have parts of it go vs. my subframe...

have had a few horrendous wrecks with it, and it has protected the spendy parts underneath the plastic...

if u want to try to straighten it, put the stock arms on, then have at it.
i bent an upper arm tube a bit on my BB.. not going to stop me from using it till it gets worse tho.

i put my sled between a tele pole and to the front hook on my truck and jerked things around a bit in attempts to straightening the subframe.
the subframe didn't give much, i think the aarm did the 'giving' unfortunately.

not sure what a single arm costs, but didn't think it'd be worth it to replace until its in worse shape than it is.

YA, the Nytro subframes tweak easily. Seems like a toss up; bend a cheaper arm and replace it later, but may end your trip early, or keep the stout arms and don't ruin the trip your on for the weekend, and spend more at the end of the year working on a subframe.

if it is still under warranty, try and get your dealer to warranty it...Clearly Yammie knows it is an issue, they changed the design on newer models...

Already replaced one under warranty, now it might be just the arm that is bent. Can't believe it is the Subframe if only one arm is slightly tweaked by an 1/8". So as long as I am going to tear apart the front to see what is going on I figured it would be nice to go slightly wider, and lighter.

if anyone wants or needs a set of the "all terrain" more trail like spindle for the timbersled front end for the fx nytro i have a set for sale. ski
