I hit a rock a few weeks ago and screwed the subframe, both left a-arms and the left knuckle. The right side is also a bit sloppy since the bushings are a little worn out. I also need to replace one tie-rod. Considering that the Barkbuster front end includes everything, is 765$ and that I have to replace at least the whole left side (knuckle ±150$, lower a-arm ±180$ and upper a-arm ±120$) I'm really thinking about getting the BB kit.

Question is what do you guys think of the Barkbuster front end?

It's lighter but is it as strong as the stock setup? Also, what width do you guys go with? I'm thinking about the 39".

I know there are probably better a-arms setups out there that change the geometry (Skinz, CR Racing, Zbroz) but most of them don't include spindles and tie rods and are way more expensive.

I'm not really a suspension pro and probably wouldn't play with all the adjustments available on the higher end kits so they may not be worth it for me.

Any input is appreciated.

You can see on the pic that I really did a great job screwing the whole front end... :o|

Nothing would have held up to that hit. The stock a-arms are probably the strongest out there but strong come with a price and that is weight. I have had my BB kits for 3 years now and have no complaints. I am not very hard on things but i have not had any issues with the kit. I have come across one post on another forum that stated that the first version of the billet spindle was pretty weak but i believe that they have that problemd fixxed. I am selling my BB kit off my "08 and fox float shocks for around $850. Because my sled is a 40th anni the arms are red with white spindles. If i was keeping the shocks i was going to rebuild them with the EVOL update kit next year but i have decided to go another route and unloading the front end kit and a-arms instead together instead.

I did the same last week in Revelstoke in a chute, clipped a rock. Same side too, your front looks the same as mine did.

Why not get one of the kits that fixes the geometry. Zbros comes with everything except subframe. For not much more.

I would not do a barkbuster front end. Dont just look at the price, there is something wrong with the geometry of the BB. It may possibly make the sled handle worse than stock.

Go with the Skinz.

Saying the new front end kits fix the geometry of the nytro is going a little too far in my opinion They also have their own issues you have to deal with that have been well documented in this forum and others.
I do agree that they make a major improvement but they dont fix the issue completely.

For the record this is the first time i have ever read about the Bark Buster front end making the nytro handle worse then stock. I did hear when they first came out in 08 that there was a issue with the spindle design that was corrected quickly. They also had an issue with the billet spindle but that was corrected.

So i've read this on a number of threads of issues with Zbroz and Skins front suspension, yet i have yet to read the issues.
What are the issues, are they so long winded that know one can say the problem without writing a book....Instead of just saying "they also have issues". Whats the deal with them?
