Hey, I replaced the battery on my 2009 Nytro FX in late March. Kept a battery tender on for a few times during the summer. Did some work during the off season and now all is put back together I've tried staring sled and have noticed it seems to "hesitate" to turn over but once it does start it seems fine. Shut it off and try again and she will fire up right away?? Any ideas??

It might just need a good charging from the alternator. After riding for a few hours you might be all set. If you haven't updated your fuel pump relay to the new new solid state version, please do this. It can leave you stranded. Also check for the wiring harness rub. I checked my 2009 nytro last winter and a few wires were almost completely worn through which was causing me intermittent electrical issues. Last thing, you might replace your starter solenoid, they can crap out. These are all easy fixes and you can find all the info here. The nice thing about these sleds is that the problems are usually simple things, not engine rebuilds like the 2 stroke guys are always dealing with.

Thank you sooo much! I was leaning towards something simple. My Yamaha guy says he will replace battery under warranty in-case it has a weak cell, I do have new relay in the pouch but seeing as I haven't had any issues as of yet I was just leaving it as a spare. I will definitely check those other issues you mentioned! Thanks again.

the fuel pump relay only acts up when it is bitter bitter cold, like 15 below. The internal moving relay contacts freeze in the open position and the control voltage can't break it loose. The engine will turn and turn but never gets any fuel. The service manual will show you which one it is. If you are expecting any really cold weather I'd go ahead and change it now. Happy riding!
