As far as greases go, I suspect popular opinion is that suspension grease is for suspensions, and bearing grease is for bearings. There are many good quality greases out there, everyone seems to have there own favorite such as Mobil, Lucas, Bel Ray, Amsoil, and so on. When I was looking into this, the first question that came to mind was, What grease does the original bearing come with? Since the bearing comes from NSK or in Canada, NTN, I doubt Yamaha did the greasing, so it may have to be the manufacturer that you have to ask if you want to stick with OEM grease. And the only reason this may have some importance, is because certain greases may not be quite as compatible with others. A reasonable cleaning of the old bearing, will make this a non issue. Yamalube's Hi-Performance Synthetic Racing Grease uses a lithium complex. Amsoil Dominator Synthetic Grease uses a lithium complex and claims to be compatible with most other greases. I suspect that with either one of these greases or similar, you will be on the right track.
