Bearing stuck on shaft?

$55.00hr is the going rate at all the local dealers,something to think about when buying a doo,poo,or cat thats out of warranty.I changed the donuts last year myself along with other things over the years like front bushings,wheel bearings,etc.These sleds are for the most part easy to work on(also helps to have a great forum like TY ).As for putting heat on the bearing?That was an idea until i was reading a post by a member that stated excess heat would cause the plastic driver to melt (he saw it firsthand).

Cut the bearing race with a cutting tool.

If you are melting the drivers, you are using way too much heat. The shaft will actually bend as well if you get it that hot. Gotta use common sense, too bad it is all that uncommon.

If you are still willing to try removing it yourself, Kroil is the ticket. Its is made by Kano laboratories if you need to search for it. I use it everyday at work and the stuff still amazes me compared to everything else I have used.

I will give the jig-a-loo a try before the trip to the dealer in the fall.Hope it works.

Just changed them on both sleds. 2nd one seemed stuck, was thinking of your problem, so I loosened track 5 turns and removed the upper idlers so I had all the lack possible. Tryed tapping best i could to no avail. Then I used a thick scewdriver between the collar that is next to the drivers and the collar on the bearing and it moved very easy. Had to push it back on and take the set scews right out or they will not come thru the holder. It seems I had to remove all pressure and it would move with fingers if you could get a hold of it .
