I believe my Jack shaft bearing is shot as I can feel a little play when I move the clutch. Is this bearing easy to remove and replace or is it going to be a bear?

I believe the bearing is pressed on. Did you try removing the seal, cleaning and greasing the bearing? You would be able to see if the bearing is shot at the same time.

ok I'll pull the seal off to see what it looks like. But theres quite a bit if play so I'm almost certain it has to come off.

I was going to do mine this year but found it needs to be pressed...you might get the new one on by freezing the shaft and heating the bearing but you need to pull the shaft. Not a bad job but requires splitting the chain case.

Ok I'll have look into it. Shouldn't be a tough job since I know the chain cases on this like the back of my hand.

What kind of play are you referring too? up down play or rotational play.(ie you can turn the secondary back and forth) If it's just rotational play that's just the backlash in the chains in the gear case. You could check your chain adjustment to make sure it's set right but there is a fair bit of rotation on the secondary.

Its not the backlash. I can feel it slightly moving side to side. Haven't had time to look into it to be sure. There is a bolt that sometimes backs off inside the chaincase others can confirm or deny which one it is but I thought it was on the jackshaft I haven't had mine appart so I can't confirm and its been ages since I had my old one appart so I can't remember for sure.

I think the bolt you are referring to is the driveshaft and it typically breaks.

is this on the driveshaft (one that goes thru track)? or the jackshaft, secondary clutch attached to this ?

Op is talking about jack shaft bearing. The one behind secondary.
The people talking about the bolt breaking are referring to the driveshaft. The bolt is on the bottom gear in the Chaincase.
