I have about 4500 on an 03 RX-1, I plan to change the track this year. While I'm doing so, what bearings should I be changing. Anyone please tell me what specific bearings and do you have Yamaha part numbers so I obtain the right parts. Any help is appreciated. :4STroke:

Behind the secondary clutch, also change the collar (the 04-06 has a threaded collar that stays in place better), and the one on the driveshaft under the secondary clutch. When the skid is out, check that all bearings turn smoothly with slight resistance - anything with NO resistance has no grease and should be greased. Anything rough should be replaced. The part numbers are all in the parts catalog at www.yamaha-motor.com. The bearings in your chaincase should all be fine unless it ran dry - inspect them all, and pay careful attention to the chain. If there is any hint of wear on the chain, REPLACE it. I say with experience that its not fun when the chain snaps as it takes out both front and back of the chaincase, may damage the oil tank, and you instantly loose the breaks.

Visit the online Yamaha parts catalog and change them ALL! I changed all the bearings, collars, o-rings, etc... in the chain-case and the jack-shaft. But one bearing I HIGHLY recommend is the PTO side drive-axle bearing. Don't re-grease it, CHANGE it! CHEAP insurance. Or you too will be looking for a good used drive axle, ordering a replacement bearing housing, speedo pickup and gear.
