Having a weird issue with my belts last two seasons. Thought at first I got a.bad belt but now that it has happend on a brand new one again I think something else is wrong. The inside cogs of the belt a few are showing signs of wear on the tops. I can't figure this out as they really don't hit the clutch? Is this something to worry about? How do I fix it? the clutches squeal a little at idle every once in a while.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Remove your secondary clutch. on the back there are three little bolts or screws. Remove a washer on each and reinstall. This is adjudsting your belt deflection. You are currently too tight.

Also check your clutches center to center measurement. 267mm ctc. If this is out it will cause your belt to be to tight.

If the ctc is off it is adjusted with the motor mounts. Not likely your issue, but its good practise to always check. Typically, your belt will ride flush to 2mm above the sheaves of the secondary. It can depend on the belt from OEM to aftermarket belts. The proper way to measure belt deflection is with a fully closed secondary and pushing down on the top of the belt between the two clutches and the measurement from the straight plain, from top of belt from clutch to clutch, to the dip, is your deflection measurement. Right off the top of my head I can't seem to remember what that measurement is. I just make sure its not squealling and it looks to be sitting up 1mm or so on the secondary and I am 9.9 times outta 10, good to go. A clutch alignment bar with the correct ctc and offset will help alot. they can be picked up for 20 bucks or so.
