I had a Bender trail exhaust on my 06 Apex, now on my 08. I always thought it was only slightly louder than stock, and sounded really good. Drowns out all the track noise under the sled. It seems now to be louder. It may be me but I do know that they use fiberglass packing in them new. I called Bender and they thought that they could repack it but they have never done so. It is fully welded so it's not a simple job. Has anyone had similar experience? Do they truly get louder? Does anyone know if the packing does get "used UP"? Mine probably has about 2500 miles on it.

If they use fiberglass they will get louder. If it's a fiberglass sheet it will last longer then the Angel Hair loose fiberglass that they use in the Excell. The fiberglass in the Excell will last about 3 to 4 thousand miles. I just repacked my Excell and it was a PITA to pack that loose fiberglass in the pipe.

Finally took my Bender off the sled. Yes, it is cracked where the ppe enters the muffler. Do they fix them? Or dod you jusst get it welded? I wonder how much of he additional exhausit noise is from the "leak" Seems a bit much for 2500 miles.....

I noticed mine to be louder. Found a small crack, taped it. Still found that it was getting tired on the ears all day long. Other fate lead to tarding my 06 for a 09. Once I got back to the OE muffer it was a welcome relief. The 09 seems to be a bit louder than my original 06. But who know my hearing just could be bad...
