Bender mid-range lean spot, possible cure.

Will do!! I was thinking of drilling a new hole on the side of the intercooler adding the secound line.

Finally got some snow and tried the double lines to the carb vents. Works great under low boost. Lost the lean condition in the 3-3.5 lb of boost area, but it is lean in the off boost area, but my fuel pressure is now down to 3lbs under no boost or 1-2 lbs of boost.

I have 2 3/8 barbs under the intercooler going to the carb vent lines. I'm running the fuel regulator, boost guage, and BOV running off the 4 barbs between the carbs and the engine.

Since I already have a barb on the side of the intercooler that I used to use for the boost guage, I'm going to put the fuel pressure regulator on it to see how it effects the off boost lean problem. If any at all.Was riding with the wife today and spent a large amount of time off boost.

I'm also very rich yet in the idle and pilot jet area with the 22.5's at 1.5 turns out. This is at 2800ft and 21 degrees.

I'm around 12.5-13.5 at very low speed, running thru trees etc, and rich burbling. I have 20's and the stock 17.5's to try. What would you guys suggest as a starting point? 20's at 2 turns or 17.5's at 2-2.5 turns? Thanks

Well mine at 1,200 feet with stock 17.5 and 1 3/4 turns. Is rich from 2000-5000 10.5-11.0 But idle is right on the money! 13.20-13.80

15 poilts might not be far off for me ,hel- they might be right on! With the idle air screws at about 2- 2 1/2 turns.

If you are 12.5-13.5 man with no load on the motor you are not far off if any thing a tick lean. If you slide the choke on does the burbling get better or worse? From what i have seen all are turbo sleds are so diffrant on jetting. :o|

Skydog ;)!

I can't use the choke even when dead cold. Was 20 degrees when we got to the mountains and can only put the choke on 1/4, for 15-20 seconds.

I keep thinking I have an air leak of some sort, but only around idle because I keep getting erratic readings on the air/fuel.

Seems fine at WOT.

Going to pull the carbs tomorrow and put in smaller pilots and try and see if I have any leaks around carb caps.

To get to the one place we go to eat, you have to go thru about 1.5-2 miles of trees etc. No real trail to speak of, and exhaust was black, and farting and burbling. This is like 5-10 MPH riding.

Sounds real dull and burbling, not lean popping.

Yea sounds rich , but mine does not sound like that at 10.0 on the gage??

Good luck man!

Try your other location for the regulator. Also, don't be afraid to turn up your fuel regular. Bender tells me that they have tested up to 15 pounds of static pressure.

On the pilots I would try the 20's at 1 turn out. I think you will be happy.

Thanks Ray, will do that tonight. Still have some snow, but no base. Will run up the mountains tomorrow. Supposed to be 45 on Thurs, and rain and 48 on Friday.
