I was looking around for a Bender Exhaust for my RX1 so I decided to call Bender and ask which one they are selling on thier website to compare to what's out there used.
A few years back when the RX1's were "it".... I remeber Bender said they were coming out with 2 verions....a "Quiet and a "Loud". It turns out the "Quiet" version never actually got built so the Bender Exhaust that you can buy now is actually considered their "Loud" version.
The guy on the phone told me that they are releasing a "Quieter" version that will be slightly louder than stock but will have a nice deeper rumble sound to it like a bike an also save a bunch of weight. It will be be louder than stock but quieter than the one they have been selling.
It's coming in the Fall and will be the same price as the one they sell now.....$399
I'm curious to hear how the new one will sound.

Nice, I'm curious too
I always wanted the cable adjustable version, loud when you wanted quiet when you didn't, I don't think they ever offered it. As much as I want it to be loud it's just not responsable for trail ridding. Hopefully they come up with a nice balance of power to weight to sound.

Agreed...I am looking for a trail exhaust. Not too loud but a bit throatier sounding. FYI....the Bender can they have right now is considered to be the "loud" version. The one they are coming out with will be closer to stock but much lighter. Hopefully it will be a nice balance of sound/weight.
I have really never heard a bender pipe in person but, I have the WK QC1 and I like it.
That one sounds nice, the excel has a nice sound too. I am not sure if I would want to give up the side exits though (on the excel).

I have heard the QC-1 but I didn't like the "tinny" sound of it. I like a deep, low rumble so that's what I'm looking for.
If Bender releases it, they are about a 2.5 hour drive from me so I will go there in person to pick it up and hopefully they will have one installed.

Here's a good video (sound quality that is) of the Whiteknuckle QC-1 system with a "little extra air" blowing through the motor via the MPI Stage 1 Super Charger @ 5 psi boost. The pipe design was changed to eliminate the H-pipe Whiteknuckle had by cutting and welding in my stock stainless x-pipe.

FYI....Called Bender today and they said they will start production of the "quiet" versions in about 3-4 weeks.
They will be about 3Lbs heavier (due to packing) than their exisitng ones (which are considered loud) but will look exactly the same otherwise. Bender's have the "X" crossover and Whitknuckle has the "H".

**UPDATE**
Well in classic Bender style...we're still waiting.
I called them today at their new shop/number (716) 841-5840 and spoke to someone about the new "quiet" exhaust.
Here are the specs:
-about 7 Lbs lighter than stock
-about 4dB louder than stock
-comes in painted black steel -OR- Stainless Steel
-told me it would make the RX-1 sound a "little bit" throatier.
-crossover is an "X" pattern
-comes with the Yamaha OEM gaskets (donuts) for replacement.
-uses ALL stock mounting locations. Nothing needs to be modified.
Sounds good to me. Said they are hoping to have some ready for shipment by the end of the month.
