Bender Stage 3 Turbo

in one of my mags i read that Bender has a new stage 3 turbo out with 358 Hp
this is the first i heard of it
is it for real?
thats a big jump from 220 HP with the stage 2 to 358 Hp
how much boost does it run?

They had a stage 3 from before RX1's began shipping in '02. Back then it was 300 hp. This is NOT something you want on your trail sled since you'll blow your motor faster than methane in a cat. It is for serious race-only sleds where there's big money riding on it.

Auskins, stage 3 uses a larger compressor and makes that power at 24# boost. The compressor in the stage 2 kit is capable of appx. 14# boost without overspeed of the compressor. :exc:

My buddy saw a mountain RX-1 run out in BC this past winter that had the Bender Stage 3 Turbo on it....he said it was sick

The power that thing puts out was in his words..."fu#$%n unbelieveable"

Never saw anything like it! The only thing that even came close was a 1M Cat with nitrous.

It couldn't have been to close since a stage 2 will leave a NOS 1M looking silly.

FYI the stage 3 comes with low compression heads.

Hey Spray....It was a Bender Stage 3...and yes the AC came very close.

Must have been a lousy RX then cause I have yet to meet a cat that could keep up. Lot's of friends that have been taking on 1500 PSI and UBI motors with NOS and only on occasion has it been close.

Closest run I have had was a VERY lightweight Poo with a turbo and nitrous. I made a radar run after coming right off the trail. I had my backpack and everything still on. I got 94mph on the gun. The Poo guy took off all his gear including his coat, then removed his mesh hood, and it only took him 18 runs to hit 98. There was a Rev on NOS and a 1M on Nos there along with a couple of others. I don't know who ran what but the next fastest sled at the end of the day was 86.

Maybe there was some sort of setup problem with the stage 3.

Something just occured to me....... Are you absolutely positive it was a stage 3? I can check with Terry, but I didn't think he had actually shipped any stage 3's this year. When was did he see it?

Spray, yes there have been stage 3's shipped this year. A second group just recently shipped too

Hey Spray...my buddy has a 2003 LE so yes he was quite interested in talking with the guy afterwards....this was not a radar event...I believe it was a hillclimb competition out in Eastern BC. The RX1 kicked a$$ but the AC was not far behind him. I didn't ask when he saw it...he just said this past winter.

PS...my buddy is now looking seriously at putting in a Stage 3 Bender.. :lol:

I can't even imagine a stage 3. Mine scares me bad enough. Although when I first ran it 4lbs of boost was impressive. Now I seem to like 10 the best.

More is better, try 12#'s. I would be concerned about the drive train holding up with the power of a stage 3. :ORC
