If the seals in the turbo are leaking , you'll get oil in both the exhaust and intake.

I believe I had an air problem and there was too much oil pressure. The last time I went out with the oil line update and regluing the plastic Tees in the front of the carbs I did not burn any oil.
What is the difference between the yamaha synthetic and like Mobile 1 synthetic oil?

Yamalube does not have friction inhibitors which are not good for the starter.
I had been running Amsoil 0-40 and was using some oil. I just switched back to standard Yamalube and on my last ride it seemed to still burn a little tiny bit but far less than with the amsoil.
The last ride with Yamalube was approximately 50 miles and the oil level on the dipstick was down MAYBE 1/8 of an inch. I don't know how much oil that equates to.

I think about an 1/8 of a quart, not much at all. I heard bad things about Amsoil, that you tend to burn more when you use that is why I was wondering about the Mobile Synthetic.
My last 2 rides I burned very little if any oil, not enough to put more oil in. I was very pleased with the results.
With the small air problem I had oil in my air box and some oil spray around my crank vent fiter. The air problem in combination with high oil pressure I believe was my problem. Now I hardly burn any oil, not that I was before. I believe the motor was not running right and the oil got displaced somewhere else, (Air Box & Crank Vent Vube), not burned.

Moose- did you use crazy glue again or something better when you re-glued your TEES? I am thinking that even though mine feel tight, I might try re-glueing. If there is a better way to seal them I would try it....
Thanks

I run motul 10;40 5100 semi synthetic and have been out 7 times since installing my turbo and the level is only now at the add mark.

I used super glue to glue at first then after the TEEs were in I used 3M super weather adhesive, part # 08001 around the entire Tee to make sure it was sealed. The adhesive is yellow and runny so it will get into the cracks to make a seal, I used a tooth pick to make sure I got it everywhere I wanted it. The adhesive also dry's hard.
This worked great for me and I am sure I have no air leaks now.
Since your Tees feel tight I would just put the 3M over the conections, if you don't take your air box off make sure you get the 3M on the underside of the Tees.

Thanks Moose/Spray/TurboTime et al
I've glued all around the tees with super weather strip adhesive (Great Idea), and tomorrow I am going to our Cabin in the mountains for 3-4 days of testing and fiddling (Me and the "Better Half's" tenth anniversary- she's a real "mountain wench" don't you know- her Bender anniversary ring is under my hood!).
I must say that the help I have gotten off this site is outstanding; I don't know how to thank you guys enough...- I will let you know how the weekend went

Spray is RIGHT! We may need your help sometime. This is exactly why I joined this forum. People are helpful and are willing to give advise, right or wrong but the problems always get solved.

Hey Guys:
The ride on the weekend was unforgettable- The first time in my life I've had to let off the throttle (Twice!) while hitting a hill!!
The sled is unreal, and is the best all around package I've ever had.
Jetting, though, is not right yet.... 400 mains and I'm still lean... with a 100 jet in the pitot.(4,000 to 6,000 ft where we rode). It was 2 ft of powder, and I had no trouble with the filter plugging (no losing boost).
I'm running 12 lbs and 250hp..... (p/n for the 300hp switches anyone?)Only problem is I want more!!!
Oh well, that's human nature I guess!
P.S. We'll share those beverages one day I hope!

Next time you need to glue any of the fittings, etc., try Yamabond 4. Its a crancase sealant and remains semi soft. It resists gas & oil and I garuntee you it won't come apart or leak any air. It won't dry out or become brittle and it doesn't take much to work. It is messy though and a bitch to get off once it dries. It should be available at your dealer.
I hope that is a typo. 400 mains and still lean? I am running 132.5's and am thinking of going to 130's. I wouldn't think your sled would go very well at all with 400's. Where are you needles?
As for a 300hp switch............. At your elevation the turbo won't put out much more than about 14 lbs of boost which is only about 280HP. The switch? Just add another one like you already have (this means add another tee and line up to the dash area). If you flip both switches you will get max boost from the turbo as the wategate will see virually no boost. Now you have low, med, and high boost. Just MAKE SURE you use GOOD GAS when you do this.
