I've been reading lots about these Hygear Springs since I bought my XTX this past fall. The consensus seems to be they make a world of an improvement over the factory springs according to the various threads even before you talk re-valving / rebuilding the shock.
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger replacing my springs with Hygear next season as they are short drive from me (location wise), and sound pretty knowledgeable about suspension to say the least. I'm just wondering what I'm getting for $350-$400 bones of my hard earned cash since Yamaha doesn't know $h*t about suspension / shock calibration?
Thanks guys.

No question do it. I have played with my setup all season. Mine are coming off real soon and headed for Hygear. Rode a Nytro with hygear suspension. Like night and day.

Do it. Ross at Hygear is a genius. I went with the sport package and it transformed the sled.

No kidding....sounds like money gonna be well spent on the off season. Thanks.....where did you ride the Nytro? Any seat time up on the Tug Hill? Seems like up there I take a beating like a rented mule, and 50% of my season always ends up on those trails.

yea i've talked to the guys at hygear and they seem pretty knowledgeable. a guy in town spent a pretty good chunk of money at hygear on his xtx,and he ended up selling the sled before i could ride it,but he said it was almost unbelievable how it changed how the sled handled.i myself was wondering if anybody had any seat time with teamfast's duo tek air shock?HeyBrownDog said:I've been reading lots about these Hygear Springs since I bought my XTX this past fall. springs
I would check out Renton Coil, they make a triple rate for the front springs, titanium all one spring. You don't have different springs, sliding collars. Made the race for us, Cadillac in the smaller bumps yet handle the big stuff with confidence.
We also ran the rear titanium torsion spring, very smooth and doesn't stack up. Prices seem comparable from what I'm reading...we stuck with the stock spring on the center shock...

Re: springs
Are Renton's prices per set or individual springs?

I recieved testimonials on team fasts duo-tek from srxspec (Allen Ulmer) and Aaron Cameron. Very plush in small bumps and handles the big stuff. You can run a lower air pressure setting compared to the fox due to the large volume capabilities. There seems to lots of good reports on Hygears stuff too, so choose your poison. I'm just as confused until I can get some seat time myself on either setup.

Huge inprovement over stock. Handles better, corners flatter, less bouncy ride. With the 6.9 pilots and Hygear springs the sled has normal easy steering effort.

In the center I tried both the Stud Boy Sharpers 6" and Woody's regular carbides, 6".
Both work good but the Sharpers wear wierd in front of the front carbide pad and after miles the sled darts more.
I have 4" Woodys on the out side.

Shim the back of the rubbers with a 3/8" piece of plastic and the darting will be gone....
