Mass City to the south.
Yep, BP in Mass city is good.
Have been up there twice so far and that BP in Mass City is closed. There is gas south in Rockland at Henry's--good food there, and further north Krupp's has gas--if you don't mind waiting, but hey, have a pasty! From there gas in Houghton. Further north there's gas in Lake Linden, Gay, Phoenix, Copper Harbor, and Lac LaBelle. Plenty of stops!

Thanks for all the info! Bieniek and I have found that you can find the best prices at a Shell station near Lake Linden. It's connected to a grocery store and I believe 93 was only $3.79.

Might be talking about a different BP? I was just up there this past weekend and it was open. There is one by twin lakes that closed. And please post back on conditions, we are going to try and get up there the 10th and 11th for one last rip.

What is there for hotels up there around mass city/twin lakes other then the ones already mentioned in this post? or is that it for lodging up there??? Thanks guys!!! Have fun up there!

Right as you enter Houghton (30 minutes past Twin Lakes) there's a Country Inn on the right side of the highway. Very clean rooms, good rates, breakfast, and they have their own access trail that links right up to trail #3

Is there anything around mass city? I would rather stay as far south as possible so the drive up is less. But I guess conditions plays a big part in that also.

Oops! Sorry! The BP in Twin Lakes is closed, not Mass City. Sorry!

Krupps in Twin lakes also has gas! I just got in from a 100 mile ride from Chassell to Baraga and back, then on to South Range and then went to the Mosquito for a night cap and back to Chassell. 8-10" of fresh snow already and it's still snowing hard!! Trails were deep and loose! Lots of snow!! Baraga on the lake was thin but snowing hard. We're supposed to get another 2-4" by 10am Monday morning.

Im in calumet now. Fresh foot of powder yesterday, some pretty good riding even if they are 100 inches low for the year. Mid 20s temps which is much warmer than my last keweenaw trip.

Supposed to get a big snow for next weekend from what ive heard.

It was a long 10hr drive from se michigan, but has been totally worth it for me. Likely my one and only trip this year. I forgot how awesome the keweenaw is to ride, its been a few years, and this is the first on my apex.

That's great to hear! We leave early Saturday morning. Careful if you head down to the club trails by Dreamland, one has been taken over by a massive logging operation and is almost impossible to navigate through due to new, unmarked roads and intersections. But if you're looking for deep powder, you'll find it there...

The Adventure Motel is in Mass City. I have stayed there a couple of times.

All I gotta say is WOW! Came up to Bergland on Sunday. Have had my best ride of the season. Everything from Hurley to Bergland to Houghton is excellent for late season riding. We woke up this morning to 8-10" of heavy wet "snowball" snow. If temps cool down trail conditions will stay excellent. I would like to think heaven is like the western UP today. Happy trails.

I stayed in calmet. Got there early saturday morning and was riding by noon. After the foot of snow fell sunday, i had some of the best riding i can remember. Logged 500 miles in 2.5 days.

Okay I don't want to hijack this topic, but how do you get from Baraga to South Ranage without taking on 159/8/15/109/3 or is that the way you went? I was wondering if there was a trail that wasn't on my map?

Thanks
