I have Pilot skis and am looking to upgrade my carbides. Looking for positive or negative feedback and recommendations on either bar. Also what size is everyone running in the center?

I'm also interested in what everyone else is running. i'm running 6' shapers in the middle and no name 6' on the outside, a buddy says he is running 7.5 shapers in both,

I'm running 8's in the center and kept the stock 4's on the outside. Works really well for me and saves you a few bucks!

If you opt for Bergstrom's carbides, be sure to ask for a straight no BS honest answer on when to expect delivery.

When I ordered mine, he told me to expect them in a couple of weeks. To make a long story short, it took 5 1/2 weeks, which to me is unacceptable. He had excuses each time I called, ie. "he's expecting carbide from the manufacturer at the end of the week...", etc.

I understand that he is a busy person/operation, however I didn't appreciate him misleading me in believing that it will be shipped shortly each time I called.

So if you were to order them today, 5 1/2 weeks from now is the last day of December. Can you wait that long?

Grimm, did you ever think that he did have problems, when I ordered mine & 3 of my friends ordered theirs we all received them in about a week.

Then he should have said so, straight up. 3 separate occasions he said that he was expecting carbides at the end of the week, and my order would then be filled and sent out the next day, 3 times.

All I am saying is that you ask for him to give you a real answer, not one that will make you believe it's about to filled and should arrive shortly, so that you don't buy something else. Snowmobile season is too short as it is.

Not for nothing (and no, I am not taking sides).....but Scott (Bergstrom) could also be getting the run-around from his suppliers.... "Sure, your carbide stock should be going out mid-week Scott"...and much like you, nothing shows up. And yes, you as the end user suffer BUT, is it really his fault? But when are dealing with high quality products that are not mass produced in a big warehouse somewhere (i.e Woody's or Stud Boy wear bars, or whatever) then this might be something one encounters.

Just an FYI.....they have Bergstrom skegs on clearance on a large online site, which I wont mention the name of, since since I got barked at last time I mentioned another business that is not an official site sponsor...even though I was just trying to pass the savings on and save my fellow TY'ers a few bucks. And the site seems to be chock full of "hall monitors/wanna be mods" ready to bark should you step slightly off course. So follow the rules!! hahaha.

I know which business...that's where I got a set of Bergstrom's this year, at a discount. ;)!
