Looking to buy some new skis for 08 nytro rtx..mainly ride out west..Any body have any likes or dislikes about any particular brand/style?

try buying 3 or 4 pairs this year and let me know ;):D any pair you don't like I'll consider buying, at a reduced price of course.

plenty of choices and twice as many opionions, which is why I'am still running stock. That and the $$$$

I am getting C&A for sure. From what I have read its what I am looking for. I think I am going with the xtx, I have ran c&a on other sleds and like them a lot. From what I hear any thing is going to be an improvement over stock and the c&a just looks so sweet. Looks alone just makes me want these above all. Also if you dont wanna spend the money you can get some duallys and their are a couple mods you can do that some say help. Thats my two cents but I have read tons of reviews on hear and every one covers it really well, just do a search and you will have all the info you need and them some, even gives the other options of the ski mod and talks about the duallys

C & A's turn but steer heavy - I think anything but Yamaha stock skies are a 100% upgrade. I'm trying Simmons this year - I rode a Polaris Switchback with them and they worked great.

Curve XS. Check them out. Skis work well across many surface types. They have a FX Nytro specific set up as well.

I just purchased some Slydog powder hounds. Just waiting for them to arrive. Now I need to get in touch with Bergstrom and get his triple point set up. I'm putting those on the Mnt. viper.

For the Attak, I want to get some Apex Mnt. skis as I've heard they are excellent. That will compliment the extended skid out in the back country.

As you all can tell, I ride mostly off trail.

Out west? What type fo riding do you, or what percentage of riding do you do. %trail, %mountains,% boondocking? Out there you need a wider ski then a lot of us Flatlanders do. A C&A XTX, Powder pro skis, maybe even a gen 2 simmons if your in the powder a lot out there. Like everyone says there are a ton of threads on this, and even a poll about a month back, but yours may be slightly different just for the area you ride. Certain topics get beat the heck out of on this site

buy c&a

buy c&a ski's if you are riding out west i think you are frequently in deep snow so get 6in wide ski's

I'd suggest the CA Simmon's Slydog Curve skis, with shaper bars and 6-inches of carbide.

But...what color for the loops?

Ditto!

I'd go 7" wide if you are riding off trail in any type of unpacked snow. I've found 6" wide skis still have a tendency to dive in too much.

I just ordered the C&a razors today for my xtx, red with black loops. I am changing my sled from blue to my favorite (black and red) I ride maybe 40% of my time in the powder. Mainly messing around but I am usually breaking the trails around my home town. First one usually on the trails when we get fresh snow. I was going with the xtx but I decided with the razors last minute. Hope I dont regret it! I also decided to go with the 228 for studs three in the middle and one on the outside alternating sides. I hope this is sufficient for all the power my turbo will be making

Wow. I am truly amazed by the amount of "what are the best skis" threads...I am even more amazed by the lack of people recommending the SLP PP. As soon as I go to a race around my place they are on every sled that performs. And as soon as I see a video from the other side of the pond, at least they are on every second sled that performs...
Really, am I the only idiot that likes them...?
Or, is it that most SLP PP users like their skis too much to become internet trolls...?
