I am thinking of doing cross country racing this year so I studded my xtx and now need a bad #*$&@ set of skis for trail riding. I have powder hounds for when I go play in the mountain, so I just need something strictly for trail riding, in mostly loose snow.

C&A pro XT's would probably be my first choice. Stiff to turn on hard packed, but turn they do in the soft. Also wide for the fluff.

I read alot about those, I also saw some people mention simmons skis, and curve xs. but from what I have read it seems like those are more of a trail cruiser ski instead of a aggreesive riding skis.

Correction: C&A Pro XTX not XT's. I can not imagine having a more aggressive keel..

I have the CA xtx which is the Xt with a trimmed keel. I like this ski and it is plenty aggressive. You want to be careful going too aggressive since the sled carries a lot of weight on the skis.

I used the xtx skis last year and they bit too much and I could not get any traction. I kept spinning in place on the hard trails. If you had studs or a taller track then I bet it would work out great

I highly dought your C&A skis were an issue with traction. This is a first I have ever heard of traction issues due to an aggressive ski profile.

I currently have the 6.9 pilots on my Nytro and keep the C&A pro XTs on my Apex (ZX-2 136). My pilots pushed a bit to much on the Apex with the less ski pressure for my liking, but they do work great on my Nytro with the extras front weight. The C&A pro skis are not for everyone and suck on steering effort on hard packed. But no better ski in the soft stuff IMO. The tamer C&A XTX would be a better choice over the XTs, but still might be to stiff for the riders that like to relax and ride.

I was talking with a fellow nytro owner last week about ski selection and he said he was getting good results with 7" camoplast skis with 4" double carbides? He said remarkable floatation but still get at cornering etc. Any body else tryed these?

It could very well be. I did those ski's with 8" tripple points and the full hygear suspension all at once. I was trying to figure out if it was something with the suspension setup or the loose snow and ripsaw track.
I talked to Hygear about that and they said they would not recommend those skis w/o studs because of the issues I was talking about. I'm going to try the curve ski's this year and see what I can do with them. Hopefully between the two ski's I can get what I want out a the sled

If your weight transfer is setup properly you would likely not have the same experience. Too much ski pressure and not enough weight transfer can effect hookup with any ski, but it is likely exaggerated with your aggressive ski/carbides.
