This is for an 06 Apex. We have it extended to 136" currently with tracks usa rail extensions. I know the firecat suspension works good, is there any particular year to get and is there a difference between the standard and crossfire?
Or is there a better suspension out? Looking for the lightest and best transferring factory suspension.

You nailed it with the Firecat or Crossfire. Personally I'd go Firecat 128" in a 136" track, just pull the skid back to fit the track. A 2003 suspension is the lightest I believe, but in 2004 they had idler wheels on the outside of the rails as well.

I'm running a 128" Firecat skid. Hooks hard and has a good approach angle. No complaints.

I'm running a 121 x-pert set back with 136" track ,great approach
angle
angleI just put a 2006 Crossfire skid into my turbo attak. Pics and measurements are in the aftermarket suspension section. Have not put any miles on it yet to see, but the approach angle is great and I put on 288 picks. This week I am going up to ride and do some set up on the sled I can let you know how it does holeshot wise compared to my dads(speed) Expert-X.

Most likely because of the bumps you encounter lake racing vs. controlled ice racing.

Because they are looking for a low cost alternative to a real race suspension.
But there is no comparison in weight, adjustability, traction, or stability.

I had very good luck with my expert x.That Skid is 14 pounds lighter then the yammie.I could run hi boost & adjust it so skiis lifted maybe 6" high at launch. No need for antiratchets & no loss of top end.

What is lighter the 03 Firecat or Expert X? What is cost of Expert X? Anybody have either one that they want to sell?
PS for 350-400hp would 136in be sufficient or would 144in be better in 660-1000ft for drag racing only?
