It all depends on what type of riding you do. This might surprise most, but when modified I have found the OEM ski on the Apex ER to be the best. My riding is strictly trail and groomed. The OEM were inexcusably awful for darting. Bought Sly Dogs and installed as suggested with skis toed-in, rather than out, and shim under front of bumper pad rather than the rear. Bergstrom 6" triple point and ski savers. Still darted pretty bad. Went to standard toe-out this helped, but still not great. Talked to Scott about problem. He suggested in addition the use of a flat plastic strip mounted parallel to the wear bar on the outside edge of each ski only, which he supplied This definitely helped out. Being inquisitive about most everything, I removed the mods from the Sly Dogs and put on to the OEM skis. Unbelievable. I now have the best handling skis on this sled ever. No darting and handles high speed turns predictably. That's not to say no ski lift if you insist on setting flat on the seat, but with body english, it's great.
By the way the Sly Dogs are now on my wife's Polaris 600 IQ LX M-10 128" and work as well as the Bergstrom modified stockers on the Apex.
My thanks once again to Scott.

ditto, I didnt like Slydogs on my Apex either. Put stockers back on with shaper duallys, much better but still a little push in powder........

I put Arrow skis on... 70% better in the darting department, Had C & A Razors on my attak: 70% better with more grip but heavier steering, ...
The best is to find a dealer with demos like mine, so you can try before you buy..

Slydogs here on my 08 Apex LTX GT,love them! I had Simmons on my 06 Apex Gt,they pushed in the corners to much for me imo. Factory skis are garbage, imo I haven't had a set of factory skis since 01/02 season on my 02 Viper, and I changed those after 100 miles to C&A liked those also on that sled.
