Best Type Of Ice Scratcher??

I have been contemplating which type of scratcher to purchase...

1) Ski Scratcher: Would most of teh spray just end up running under the track?

2) Holz Scratcher: Mount toward front of rails, could interfere with fwd idler wheel though?

3) Under Floor Board Scratcher: Made by an outfit in Canada, mounts to the very forward underneath area of the floor boards.

The floor board style looks like a pretty long reaching scratcher (read; fragile maybe?), but sure looks like it would provide a good spray pattern across the whole range of the rail, fore to aft??

Thoughts?? Experiences??

the best scratchers are #3, under the floor boards. they have one major downfall, you must lift them up before backing up. the majority of the year they stay up out of the way, but when trails are wind blown bare or riding on blue ice, no snow, these are the best. most times just one down will spray enough into the track to lube slides and heat exchangers,leaving the other as a backup.

Has anyone mounted the rail type scratchers on there XTX? I wonder if it wold be fenificial to remove one set of wheels to make room for the scratchers? I ordered the scratchers and there doesnt seem to be any room for the install.

thats my sled....I love them, can lower while riding no need to stop....plus they vibrate when down telling me there in use....as for being weak...i used them at over 100mph

I saw several types of scratchers in use up in Cochrane last year. The type that you are running were the favorites.

Got mine at my Yamaha dealer (available at Royal Distribution also) and love them, but they vibrate the sh$t out of my feet....tried to mount the rail ones but coulnt find a sutible location...
