Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
I know this topic has been hashed over thru the years but what is the consensus on the best way to clean out the pilot jets on a carb'd Vector? I have the jets out of the carbs.

Soak them in carb cleaner in a metal can overnight, blow them out with compressed air at full blast.

Make sure you have a good grip on the little bastards, or do it inside a 5 gallon bucket so when you blow them outa your fingers they aren't launched into the next town. ;)!

I use a needle, Q tips, and compressed air after soaking them in carb cleaner.

After you are done cleaning them and from this point on, be sure to run some Sea Foam through your sled periodically.

I have been for a few yrs now and I haven't had to clean my carbs once since using it ;)!

I run a bit through every other tank and add a little extra before my last ride of the season.

I have run Sea Foam thru the sled since new along with Stabil ethanol treatment. This is the 2nd time in the life of the sled (bought new in 2005) this has happened. With how small the pilot openings are, I'm surprised it doesn't happen every year. The carb bowls are spotless but I think I got some gunk in the last tank of gas I bought. All three pilots are pretty gummed up, and a dealer has cleaned them before. I actually have 3 new pilot jets on order.....gas is corrosive and I got 12K miles on the original set....I know that new ones will be clean! ;)!

Very likely the case, and the Ethanol fuel doesn't help matters much either!! :o|
