I purchased a used Nytro with Simmons skis. Most of the time I am on open fields with hard packed snow but I also spend some time in powder snow in the trees (no trails). The Simmons do their job and turn great. I find on the hard pack (especially uneven drifts) the sled wants to "throw" you around. I think it is partially due to the aggressive skis. In the powder it is hard to initiate turns at low speeds.
Are these suspension, steering issues or a combination?
I have read here and on other forums about steering relocators. Is the concept of relocators to change the geometry of the steering (straighter U-joint) to reduce the force required to steer or is to change the steering wheel angle for the rider?
I want to cure both problems without spending a pile of money.
I drove a friends 2013 Polaris RMK and found it easier to control in both situations. My friend noted he did not find much difference on the hard pack. However, the RMK had nothing on my low end torque (even with my worn out track).
