hey fellas i know this is snow machine forums and theres hardly any body at atv forums but any ways which atv would you prefer a big bear 400 or grizzly 350 and both have irs.help me out dont know which one to get. :rocks: :yam:

well the canadian site does not show a grzz 350 but it does show a kodiak and bruin 350 so this is what i will base my opinion on.

the 400 is the old semi auto that yamaha used for years and really has no problems. it will pull more than it states (i have 05 bigbear pro). benefit is that you can gear down to slow down if you want to.

the 2 350's are good as well. the only difference between them is the kodiak has diff lock for the front. automatic is good as long as the belt stays dry.

it basically all comes down to what you want out of the bike. the 400 will be almost bomb proof and will last forever (uncle is still running his 92 big bear on origonal motor and it has been to hell twice). the 350 auto will be better in the mud as it keeps wheel spin up more easily without having to shift.

for my kind of riding the semi auto of the 400 is better as it is a lot of pulling with some steep grades . both are great bikes though.

My brother has an old '97 Big Bear 350 with the auto clutch. It's been through hell and back and looks it BUT still runs like a champ. I've alway been partial to being able to shift rather than letting the machine do the shifting. I also tend to down shift to slow myself down which is easier on the brakes as well. I guess its more of a preference issue....to shift or not to shift.
