Since I cannot get to my sled tonight to work on it, I am trying to get my task list together for wrenching tomorrow. Having said that...
The PO of my sled took the reverse warning beeper off the sled. I had a couple times last year when I went to jump back on the sled after a break at a restaurant or tavern, and pinned the throttle to take off and pulled an Austin Powers and went in a backwards direction all too fast, forgetting that I had left it in reverse when I parked. My pride has already been hurt, but I want to make sure that is the only thing that is damaged. It feels like its only a matter of time before I back into someone or someones sled!
One of the things I was going to do was to mount a large blinking LED light somewhere near the top of the dash so I wouldnt do this again. I cant get to my sled right now to test, so I was wondering if anyone knows where the backup alarm used to reside, and which wire I would need to tap into?

Not sure of the wires right this minute but I have a stock reverse beacon if you want it. Pay shipping and its yours.

The reverse switch is on the reverse handle linkage. Y ou could tap into the wiring behind the switch. Are you sure the beeper has been taken off, or maybe just unpluged? Look right above your chaincase you will see it just follow your linkage.

Why do you leave your sled in reverse ??? If you get in the habit of putting it back into forward as soon as your done backing up, the problem is solved.
X2 and why pin it when you take off? Things need to warm up anyways...

Did the PO remove the beeper or just unplug it as most would do . You may be able to just plug it back in and be all set . I dont think I would ever leave my sled in reverse but woundn't trust some of my riding buddies not to have a laugh on me by putting it in reverse
