Was wondering about recommendations. I'm changing my idlers out for 135 mm or 5.35's due to the premature (700 kms) wear of my sliders on an 09 XTX. The billets look nice
but I'm worried of ice build up. I do mostly trails and this year lot's of flood water on the lakes. Is there any real benefit to billets or just save my money for beer? Suggestions? And thanks in advance.

I vote plastic. Less expensive, and I have broke a set of team thunderstruck Billitt wheels on rough trails before. Though the yamaha ones look stronger than the ones I had, I think solid plastic won't ice up. Since the broken wheel I have had solid plastisol and never had one ice up on me.

I vote plastic. Save your money, or spend the money on an extra mount/set of wheels.
If you haven't already heard, Excell motorsports makes 135mm wheels, direct bolt on replacements (with 6005 bearing), and they sell a kit with the extra mount for an extra wheel.

Yamaha Vmax540 cast aluminum look good and stand up better.

Thanks 4x4. Like I mentioned at the beginning of the tread I'm changing to go to "larger" wheels for excessive hyfax wear I'm not just changing them for looks or lack of durability. I'm thinking also that those wheels might look pretty retro on an 09 XTX.

Thanks guys! I've ordered a set of X wheels, hopefully my new Hyfax will stand up until they arrive.
