BLACK FLAKES

how big are these black flakes in the coolant bottle that people keep talking about.was running 10lbs this weekend.i have some black dust in mine.should i be worried.gonna try 14-15 lbs this weekend

You will see black specs on the top of overflow. 10 lbs without retorking is too much.. You should retork now or trouble this weekend.

yea lyman what i got looks like black dust in my overflow and not much of it.i will re-torque before the weekend.

Any little flakes and the bottle starting to turn from bright white to tan color is a leak.

Yea man i dont know if just a retork will save it. Sounds like you might need a new gasket.

the guy i bought it from said he's been running 10-12 lbs for the last 1000 miles.it's not pushing coolant yet.when i say black flakes it just looks like dirt/dust.i would think if it was blown i would have pushed coolant out.i will retorque anyway

I have some small black flakes in mine........last two years.....checked things seems to be fine 16psi boost
