I have a 2010 mtx with mcxpress 180. Ran fine for 2000km last season. I just put on a Yamaha roll over solenoid/tether, (tested, works fine in shop) put on about 200kms no issue, then started it @ -25C warmed up for 10 mins, did 1km mid rpm ride to warm up more, came back and oil is running out belly. The 5/8" line in center of reservoir had a 2" split? found some old heater hose in the rustic garge, added 2L of oil and ran fine yesterday. My obvious assumption is the rollover solenoid was froze up, and the pressure buildup had to escape somewhere until engine got really warmed up?? But could I be missing something else?? Any help?

Could be wrong but won't the valve stay open when key is turned off, so if tether is in and key turned on to warm up the valve should have never been closed and shouldn't be the cause of your problem.

This is the reason i disabled the kill switch with my OFT setup because even with key on and tether pulled the killswitch being engaged would kill power to sled and allow valve to open ( figured it would be easy for kill switch to be engaged during a roll over).

you are exactly right, a very stupid design, I will be bypassing my kill also, i tested in shop to confirm it functions fine. The problem is where did this pressure build up come from to blow this low pressure line.

Make sure you have the valve installed the correct way. I know if you install the oft one the wrong it will cause engine failure.

I'm glad I could point out the kill switch flaw. I originally was going to keep the function of the kill switch until I accidently realized what it did and that it potentially defeats the purpose of the tether and valve. Hopefully it is as simple as the valve being installed backwards as stated otherwise I can't think of where the pressure would come from.

P.S. Sorry the redundant answers in the different threads. :exc:

I have the Yamaha rov and i am an idiot as the directions clearly state the valve is directional and MUST be installed a certain directions! The installation looked so straight forward, i didnt bother reading dirs. So back to the shop to do it right and clean up 2L engine oil under the hood! lesson learned. ugghh.
