Finally got my sled out on the snow yesterday after installing boondocker side mount turbo. Runs great and pulls very strong at 8 lbs boost. No lag and ran side by side with Tuco's supercharged Apex. Not as responsive as the sc but damn close.
The only problem i ran into all day was sucking snow into the filter in deep powder which would try to kill the motor when not on boost. Same thing happend to supercharger but not as bad. Both hoods were covered with a foot of snow. Going to try to cover hood vent with prefilter material and add flowrite to side cover to see if that helps and maybe use turbo blanket.
Can't wait for next weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a winner. Did you take any comp away with shims or extra gaskets? How is the noise level? There is nothing better than boost! Once you boost it, its nearly imposible to go back and ride a stocker. If you want more responce I would sugest giving the silver Holtzman springs a try. They work great for that application! I ride at 10,000 to 13,000 ft. I did not add shim or head gasket because of elevation and boost level. I am running stock carb springs because others have tried different springs with boost, but they dont respond at elevation as well as stock.

Did you have the snow sock on the filter? Shouldn't plug filter with the sock on. Guy I know popped his filter right up through side pannel vent and has no probs with snow plugging, but he has the sock on to.

The sled runs!! It is pretty noisey on the trail but in the powder I could hear the turbo spooling more than the exhaust. He has the prefilter on the filter. It is a very small filter and wouldnt take much to plug it up. Its either pluged or once the hood gets covered it just starts sucking in hot air from the turbo/engine. Like he said, mine did the same thing. My o2 guage went rich and wouldnt idle. Thumbs up for the boonie kit.
