boost controller ?

Benji,
Here is site that can give a good overview of what's out there: http://www.boostcontroller.com/index.ph ... c11de8bdb1

I use a Turbosmart boost controller... others use: TurboXS and Hallman for manual.

The electronic one that I've looked into is the Turbosmart e-boost controller. Lots of options, but $$$$.

What ever controller you go with call and see for a local dealer, i found one within 1/2hr of me... paid cash... ;)!

Benji, any controller that bleeds off air will permit a boost spike over the desired pressure. A better way to go to control boost is a adjustable spring arangement pulling on the wastegage or accuatior. This will prevent any overboosting. Many of the bleedoff controllers will see 5# more/less, depending upon the amount your bleeding off. Not good to say the least. The adjustable spring takes time to build, but is well worth it. I have a turbosmart dual stage gated boost controller for sale $100, can be seen on boostcontroller.com

You can get the HKS EVC2, which is the same boost controller without the LCD display for about $380 bucks.

boost

I think the controller with a Lcd screen would be the way to go, I have seen as much as a 5 lb. spike with my turbo-x before it settles down. This seems to be when I have it on the higher settings....

A while ago I read a test on a whole range of boost controller in Turbo magazine. It seems the best bang (perhaps not the best term here lol) was the home depot (homemade) manual boost controler. I run one on my Talon and it is dead steady with absolutely no spike. Now, obviously, this type provides zero data requisition unlike the one Ted is talking about.

FYI I bought all the parts to build mine at home depot..it was like $14 I think.
