Put a MPI Super Charger on my 2006 Apex GT. Put 300 miles on it and left for 2 weeks for a little sun. Did it for my wife. Would have been happier in the snow. But anyways, went out to ride this weekend and it was dead. No power from batery. Put charger on and no reading on my charger. Put cables directly on the batery and still no reading on charger. So I boosted sled with resister batery cable and it started, ran until i pulled cables off the batery. Tried a few times and same thing. I would think the sled would stay running without batery if alternater was working. Any feed back would be great.

No it wont run without battery, its a part of the system being a DC ignition system it needs proper battery voltage to create proper spark. Shad

I saw 2 batteries in MPI's kit last week go dead while riding - both had the build date of 0610 on them. Replaced the batteries and good to go.
