Can you dye a boss seat fabric? my seat has faded from black to a purplish. I bought it this way used, boss told me that they dont recommend you do this and a new seat cover would cost $250+. Any thoughts? i forgot to mention its the sides not the top that faded.

you can get some vinyl/fabric paint and do the cloth sides.i use sem brand paint.comes in a spray can at any automotive paint store.dye would work but you dont have a way of washing it to get the dye out enough to keep it from bleeding. unless you took the cover off then you miswell just get new fabric installed.
the cover would come off pretty easy, someone told me you dye those covers

vinyl paint is better then dye and you can do it with cover on.just tape off vinyl sections or you can do the whole seat also.if you prep the vinly with lacquer thinner or wax and grease remover it wont come off and it'll look like new.
hey rich the sides that are faded are not vinyl they are like nylon of something. Will the vinyl spray still work for that and do i still use thinner or greases remover on that material? wouldnt it melt nylon?

yes same paint on the fabric just dust it off unless if it has grease then use wax, grease remover or hot water and soap and let dry good.if you have a bissel green machine they work good also.
