Remember that group buy we did on Boss seats? Well, I finally got mine, back. It apparenty didn't fit the first time they sent it. Boss Seats promised I'd be reimbursed for shipping to send it back for repair. That was 2 months ago at least. Finally about a month ago, I phoned them to see how it was doing. Then again 3 weeks ago. They said it was shipped. Three weeks later, I get it. I'm out $78 extra bucks for shipping and so far, they don't reply to my email. To the guy that set up this group buy, no hard feelings, it's not your fault.
To Boss Seats, 'expletive deleted'. I just hope it fits this time......

Let me know if it fits. I just sent my black one back to Utah last week I'm not waiting two months for one that fits! Does $78 shipping, twice? Mine only cost $27 to ship. I've been talking to a guy there named Gus and he seems helpfulbut I'm not so sure they have a handle on what is wrong with there manufacturing process that turns out some that fit, some that don't. They really need to do a fit-check on an actual sled or a fixture before shipping. Let us know if your's fits now.

I called Boss today to ask them about the status of my seat. They said they were in the process of making a fit-check fixture, made up of actual RX1 parts, to inspect their seat's fit before shipping. The fixture is a week out, and my seat is at least 2.

MountainMod is making a seat for the RX1 similar to the Boss seat but they use the original seat base. They have also molded a custom seat base for another seat version. Forget about all the snaps and velcro! They have some pics on their site www.mountainmod.com

It took me quite a few phone calls, but I finally got reimbursed for sending my seat back. I had the seat for about 4 weeks before I got the check. All I can say is keep calling.

How much did you guys pay? I just got my 05 seat from my dealer for $350 US and needless to say it is a perfect fit. It has alot more padding than the 03 seat. I'm glad I went this route. BTW it took 4 days to get the seat, once I ordered.

I'm going to give Boss a chance to get my seat right. I have already added 2 inches of foam to my stock seat, recovered it to minimize leaky seams, and cored out the back to save as much weight as possible and soften it up. It is plenty comfortable, but still weighs 12.5lbs without the light assy. In the winter I've had it gain 4 lbs in water weight. If I can save even 5lbs, have a seat that is comfortable, and doesn't take on water, I'll be happy. I just want it to fit! Once you have dug into your sled to shed some serious weight a few snaps and velcro don't bother you much
