broken bolt in chain case

What criteria is Yamaha considering for subframe replacement and who is making the decision, Yamaha or the dealer?

Seems like the bolt replacement would be a freebee given it's scale relative to the subframe replacement.

Dealer Rep came to look at the sled for signs of front impact (a-arms, skis). I agree the bolt is really minor but they did not cover it, obviously I could not care less...

1800 miles on mine, no clue how long it has been broken... It's not much of a concern at all, the lower outer bearing in the chaincase cover holds the whole assy together even if the bolt is broken off. The bolt basically just holds the reverse assy together while the chaincase cover is off. You could assemble it with no bolt and it should work just fine, kind of a neat design.

My sled has reverse, not sure if it is happening to non-reverse models also.
