If you are out playing in POW then have it in or youll risk stabing your track with the front of your rails = new track.

I put 1700 miles on my sled last year without the transfer rod.. its alot more fun without it and once you figure it out it can still handle awsome..
2 weeks ago my 07 attakgt (7000 miles) started wheelieing and i new something was up. the front mount of the controll rod broke in half. i unbolted it ,rode it another 150 fun miles. i have 5 years of yes warranty on this sled so i dropped it off at the dealer they said it also damaged the track ,another suspension piece and the w arm was broke. yes is covering it all. sounds like about a $2000.00 job to me. last year yes paid for a $1500 exhaust job.thanks yes!

I have read about the potential to stab the track with t rod out but can't quite figure out how and why this would happen?
Can anybody explain?
any of you guys have the old rods off your skids, I need the bearings and seals for an old one for mine. pm me if you do.

if the rod breaks in the centre, the back piece will fall down and lay on the track as the track it turning it has a very good potential to "stab" the track... when this happens you'll know in a hurry!

Try it for a bit without the rod. You may have to pull your suspension up in front, but I bet you will not be displeased in the ride.

Some quick guidance if ya'll could...
My transfer rod came apart (unscrewed). I have yet to get it out and put back together.
Should I expect something more than just screwing this thing back together and tightening up the jam nut ?
I saw Bethviper, ask about getting bearings and seals...is this thing toast from coming apart ? If so I need to anticipate some parts for a Friday night rebuild.

Should be fine unless you damaged the threads. It's just a matter of threading it back together and locking jam nut.. There are no bearings or seals on the inside of the transfer rod just some washers.. just one seal on outside to keep out dirt etc. the bearings and seals bethviper is talking about is where it bolts to the front and rear arms i would assume.

i had the jamb nut come loose an a long trip backpacking from timmins to moonbeam for the weekend the transfer rod seperated. it didnt "stab" the track so much as "chew" it i had a line down the middle of the track down past the cords in some spots, so we removed what was left of both peices and finished the trip, and like everone else has said WHAT A RIDE!! especially in a strait line i replaced my trans rod in the off season, i also replaced the track with a cobra, i guess i got lucky in a way it help me justify the up grade to the cobra!
