Building a Sled

It looks like this summer we will be building a new radar run / drag race sled. I just sold our old ZRT CPR 1108 and are moving on to the next project. I bought my brothers 06 apex gt and looking to make it into a drag sled.

I have never built a sled like this before and really do not know where to start. We are planning on staying with CPR for motor, but as far as everything else I don't know where to begin.

Should I start by getting the chassis in race condition then move onto the engine work?

From what I have been reading here, it seems like the yamaha skids are not the best for hooking up. Should I look for a different manufacturer skid or if we are going to go all out, go with something along the lines of a wahl or proline skid?

Any advice would be appreciated.

edit: The sled will be run mostly at local radar runs and drags. Not planning on running at any professional events. I would like to see the sled in the 130-140 mph range. Not sure how much HP that would take, but reliability is key - I don't want to push the sled over it's limits.
