brand new set of slides on my 06 gt, rode old forge other day, trails were all groomed flat but frozen, having an awesome early morning, last ride of the year, temp guage came on few timess, blew an inner wheel and a set of slides in less than 30 miles, changed the slides and rode afternoon after it softened up, no wear at all, crazy, just thought id share the experience! Tahnks for all the great imput all year!

I believe that snow scratchers are necessary for those conditions, They really do work.

x2 on Scratchers. You need snow spray/ lube to cool down and lube those sliders!!!!!

If you ever get in a jam,buy a bottle of dish detergent. I had to use that this weekend to get back to the camp my slide were so worn and like you trails were frozen solid!!! Guy riding behind me had plenty of wear left on his slides,I had nothing,he said he never even smelled mine burning and when we got back his were pretty much gone mine were about the same as when we left. I kept stopping every few miles soaking the track and the slides. I noticed that the detergent never totally burnt off the track it kept it lubed. I'm gonna start carrying a small bottle for logging roads.
