I have an 06 RTX an in box stock form it is a pig for handling.....adding pilots, 13mm bar, lowering the front and tweaking the rear will transform it into a great trail sled

I think that was the only year that the RTX had the Mono suspension. Don't expect to ride it like an RTX without breaking something.
Ask about slider wear and if he upgraded the wheels to larger or better ones.

A couple of updates came in handy:
1. '07 grip heaters.
2. Chaincase cover ('06 covers did not have in inner wall for the gasket to bump up against, gasket could get sucked in & c-case oil would leak out).
3. Add a rear heat exchanger, weren't std on '06's.
4. Cracked fornt pivot arm on rear suspension.
5. Simons or Doo Pilots improve cornering. If you leave the stocker skis on, consider Woodys Dooly's, Qualcomp Cobra Heads or Snow Trackers.
Other than these items, the sleds are gas-n-go.
Enjoy.

Yes, best looking sled ever (with the little windshield)
Stock skis suck on any yamaha 4 stroke
The durability of the mono is better than the newer RTX Apex's in my opinion.
jackshaft bearings need to be changed often
going to need exhaust donuts soon
make sure the rubber is still on the rear inner wheels
ripsaw tracks are soft. check and see that the studs are all there and not overtightened.
awesome sled! Hygear dual rate springs do wonders to the rear shock.

It is a great sled I have had 3 of these sleds and passed down 2 of them. To my wife and daughter.
Yes they need dual darbides and some treaking but over all are a great sled. I drive a attack gt but you can't beat the seat of the 06 rtx. This sled bone stock will blow your mind and almost any other sled you come up against. Enjoy it....
